How do I get so much done? How are there enough hours in the day for me to perform, write material, market myself, run all the areas of my business and still have a very healthy social life?
My secrets are out. I use automation and you should too. I send out 12 different newsletters each and every month. I can tell you that I do not sit and write 3 unique newsletters each week. There just is not time. So here are a few services I use to manage my day:
1. Google Mail (www.gmail.com) This has a great feature called 'canned responses' so all of those things we type regularly such as 'this is how you book me' or 'I need this information so that I can give you a price for x' I have pre-written and can email them to the right person within a single click of the mouse. Think of the time I am saving here!!
2. Aweber (www.aweber.com) This system manages all of my newsletters. When someone subscribes and ubsubscribes I dont need to do a thing, the system takes care of it automatically. What's more, I can write all of my newsletters and then set the system to send them out at the correct times. So while I travel to a show or talk with a client, the syetem is sending out emails to the right people. This is possibly my TOP system that my business simply would not work without.
3. Call Partner (www.call-partner.co.uk) These guys answer the phones for me with my own company name, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They answer with my company name and then forward the message to me by email. They even filter calls from those annoying sales people who eat our time away. Whats even better still is that its a pay as you go service, no contract at all. I love this thing. In fact I've arranged for YOU to have a 2 week free trial if you enter the trial code 'KNDY' - try it for just 2 weeks at no cost and see how it works for you.
So saving time by automating the emails I reply with, my newsletters and by having someone answer my calls I am able to get on with running and developing the business.
More soon :)

Why Blog, Why?
Having a blog makes your message much more reliable and trustworthy to anyone who might be interested in hiring you. Let me explain.
Imagine you're looking for a plumber. You find a website of Joe the Plumber and it has his sales message about how good he is and why we should hire him.
We continue searching online and we find the blog of Pete the Plumber. Here there is no sales message, but Pete gives his readers tips every Monday on a topical subject. This week it was on "how to make sure your pipes don't freeze and burst" where he tells you in detail how you can prevent this from happening in your own home.
Which of these two so you trust more? Who do you feel more inclined to hire? Pete, because you can see that he is obviously an expert in his field.
This is the same for us bloggers. Not sure how to write a blog? Want to know how to drive masses of visitors to your blog? How about making money from your blog? These are just some of the features I reveal at http://therapistinnercircle.blogspot.com

The Future of Our Businesses
Helloo!
Over the next few days I am going to be giving you some insights in to what I consider to be the single most important tool when it comes to becoming established as a therapist. In particular establishing yourself online.
The thing I am talking about is a blog. Do you have one? Have you never heard of one? Well right now you're reading one. A blog is a content filled website. It is a web based log of information, activity, developments and good old fashioned information.
As a therapist, if you don't already have a blog I strongly urge you to set one up and start posting on it, regularly.
There are 5 very important reasons that you should be blogging, if you want to grow your online presence. Here is the first.
Everyone is Online
It's true. Most of your customers will be looking online to find the kinds of information and services you are offering. So if you are easily found online then you might be saying 'buhbye' to your business in 2009.
96% of UK homes now have the internet. 99% of offices have it too. So if someone is sitting at their desk wondering how on earth they;re going to loose that weight, get the confidence to tell their boss where to shove his stupid job or anything at all they are more likely to go to the internet and search for that information. Now more than ever.
A blog will give you an even larger online presence. In the next couple of days I'll write a new article that will reveal why in fact having a blog is far more important than having a website!
Pay attention, I am being deadly serious.
Kennedy
p.s. I'd love to see more people using this resource so please do drop your fellow therapist friends an email to let them know of this blog. After all, I ask for very little. :)

THE Most Important Time of the Year
Whether you subscribe to any other programmes or not, it is more than likely that you already know. This week is the single most important week of 2009.It is this week that makes it or breaks it. It's the first week 'back to work' for many people and it's your first day too. It is time to set your sights on what it is you are going to achieve this year. What are your targets, your goals - what is it that 2009 is going to have for you that 2008 did not?
The shocking truth is, the reason it didn't happen for you in 2008 was down to one cause. That cause is a blockade, a negative something inside of you. So in order to achieve the things you deserve so much this year there is a very important pair of tasks I want you to involve yourself in and commit to the fact that you are going to do these two things before Friday this week.
Here they are:
1 - Take one of those large wall calender and a marker pen. Stick the calender somewhere prominent in the place you do most of your focused work. I have mine here in my office right above the desk I'm sitting at right now.
Take the pen and commit the things you want to achieve to that calender. This means that these goals, these intentions are now externalised and they are being set timed deadlines.
In front of you, you can see all of the things you want to achieve and at any point in the day, instead of thinking 'I have nothing to do' you can just look up at that calender and see 'what's newxt' and what you can be doing to take yourself closer to that goal.
2 - Give yourself permission to be successful. It may sound mad or even 'out there' but many people don't actually allow themselves to do the things that they want so much. You need to decide right now, as you look at your wall calender, that these things are going to be done. You're going to enjoy them and you will make small sacrifices in order to make sure that they are attained.
Tomorrow I will show you a bunch of techniques for increasing your productivity. Some of these things are hilarious and fun too!
Speak then!

Motivating Your Audience
Motivating Your Audience
- Hanoch McCarty
The book promises to talk about how it is we can speak to people and communicate with them in a way that motivates them. Causes them to take action and feel great about themselves. I read it recently and here is what I thought. Remember of course that all of this is only my own opinion, and counts for nothing more, or less.
It's a paperback with a terrible front cover. Should we judge a book by it's cover I am not sure, but when the author is talking about the importance of presentation you might think he'd have considered the first impression his book makes. But let us delve inside.
The first thing that struck me was the nice font size. It's readable and the font itself makes it look interesting and easy on the eye. The binding has been a little clumsy in all honesty as the text goes right in to the centre and you really have to strain the binding of the book to read the end of each line. Now for the content.
McCarty starts off with a really lovely, insightful discussion of how we are all motivated and how we can use those natural motivations in order to motivate people for our own purpose. A great way to start a book and exactly what I expected.
For the remainder of the book however he seems to leave behind the idea of motivating to give an insightful view of how to be a speaker, how to arrange things like introductions and contracts, room layouts and how to be a good speaker. Let me tell you that his ideas are fantastic and obviously learned from working and being a super successful speaker - if the book had been on the subject of how you can be a successful speaker, having an expert like McCarty as your teacher would be a great resource for those starting out and those who already have some experience but want to be more effective.
However that is not the title of the book. I was disapointed by the lack of information on how we can actually structure a speech, how we can literally motivate our audiences. Which in truth is what the title and description promised us.
My Verdict:
If you want to be a better speaker (motivational or not) or want to get in to speaking then this is a great book. If you want to learn the skills that a speaker uses to motivate people and have them wanting to take action then we do need to look elsewhere.
Judge for Yourself
Don't just trust my opinion. It's not exactly a pricey purchase at only £10.99 right now. The book is available from Amazon here: Motivating Your Audience
